Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026. Applies to this website and to The Lead Locker business accounts.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how The Lead Locker handles information collected through this website and through The Lead Locker business accounts. It applies to visitors who browse the catalog, businesses that request quotes, and account holders who place and receive orders.

The Lead Locker sells business-to-business prospect datasets. This policy governs information about our own customers and website visitors. It does not describe the contents of datasets supplied to customers; obligations relating to that data are addressed in the Data Use Policy and in the laws that apply to your outreach.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate accounts and fulfill orders.

  • Account information — your name, business name, business email address, business phone number, industry and website, provided when an account is created or updated.
  • Request information — targeting configurations built in the list builder, quote requests, orders, replacement requests and messages you send us.
  • Communication preferences — your choices for optional email, SMS and phone marketing, recorded with a timestamp and the point at which the choice was made.
  • Transaction records — quotes issued, orders accepted, amounts, dates and delivery records. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by The Lead Locker.
  • Technical information — log data such as IP address, browser type, timestamps and pages requested, together with cookie identifiers described in the Cookie Policy.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, health information or payment card numbers by email.

3. How we use information

  • To create and administer your business account and authenticate sign-in.
  • To review dataset availability, prepare and issue quotes, and record acceptance and payment.
  • To fulfill orders and make delivered files available inside your account.
  • To process replacement requests submitted under the Replacement Policy.
  • To send transactional communications about your account, quotes, orders, deliveries and support requests. These are required to operate an account and are not marketing.
  • To send optional marketing communications, only where you have separately given permission for that channel.
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the service, investigate misuse and enforce our Terms of Service and Data Use Policy.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Legal bases

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you for account, quote, order and delivery activity; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving a business service; your consent for optional marketing and non-essential cookies; and compliance with legal obligations for record keeping.

5. Marketing permissions

Optional email, SMS and phone marketing permissions are collected separately from one another and are never pre-selected. You can withdraw any of them at any time in your account settings, by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email, or by contacting us. Withdrawing marketing permission does not stop transactional messages about your account and orders, which are necessary to provide the service.

Permission you give The Lead Locker to contact your business is entirely separate from any permission concerning individuals or businesses listed in a dataset you purchase.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell information about our own customers. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers — payment processing, email delivery, infrastructure hosting, error monitoring and customer support tooling, each acting on our instructions and permitted to use the information only to provide their service to us.
  • Professional advisers — accountants and legal advisers where reasonably necessary.
  • Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law, regulation, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
  • Business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to the transferred information.

7. Retention

Account records are retained while the account is active. Quote, order, delivery and replacement records are retained after account closure for the period required for legal, tax, accounting and dispute-resolution purposes. Consent and preference records are retained as evidence of the choices made. Log data is retained for a limited operational period and then deleted or aggregated.

8. Security

Access to accounts is authenticated, delivered files are restricted to the account that placed the order, and internal access to customer records is limited to personnel who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and you are responsible for protecting your own sign-in credentials and for controlling who inside your business can access downloaded files.

9. Your choices and rights

You can review and update your account details, change or withdraw optional marketing permissions, and request closure of your account at any time. Depending on where you are located, you may also have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask for corrections, to request deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. We will verify that a request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and we may need to retain certain records where the law requires it.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where information is transferred out of a jurisdiction that restricts such transfers, we rely on an appropriate safeguard such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Children

The service is intended solely for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service develops. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and material changes affecting account holders will be communicated through the account or by email.

13. Contact

Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through the contact page, which routes to the team responsible for privacy inquiries.
